"Around here, we don't look backwards for very long... We keep moving forward, opening new doors and doing new things because we're curious... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." -Walt Disney
It's that time of year. Parents are starting to think about summer camp and next fall preschool enrollment. Some parents will investigate and compare and ask everyone what they think. Some parents will make a choice based on where their friends are sending their children. I have found that the parents that send their children to Temple Shir Shalom's Preschool: The Learning Center investigate, ask a lot of questions and most important they know what they want!
At The Learning Center we offer an individualized, relationship based Jewish education to our families. We know how important brain development is within the first five years of a child's life. Specific experiences and the child's parents. The Learning Center staff are trained extensively in the areas of social emotional development and its impact on learning and building friendships.
Parents that come to The Learning Center recognize the importance of identity formation, a sense of self, about who their child is. As their child builds his or her Jewish identity the whole family is impacted. Preschoolers take their "preschool" home with them and often, if they have not done so before. parents begin to embrace a stronger Jewish identity and participation in Jewish activities.
At The Learning Center our curriculum is play based. Parents that send their children here know that our focus on being play based and building emotional competency means that our academic components are stronger than most. When a child can resolve conflict, and can think creatively their ability to understand the world around them is heightened.
Recent students have shown the benefit of spending time outdoors and in nature. At The Learning Center our garden and all that comes with it serves as an outdoor classroom. Our parents know that being outside has a different structure than being inside and sees the effects of true hands on learning. As their child's senses are more activated they see the sense of wonder that every parent should want their child to experience. At The Learning Center, our outdoor classroom is another way to teach the young child critical thinking skills.
Please come visit The Learning Center. Watch how much fun our children are having. They don't even realize how much they are learning and growing... just ask their parents!
